Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to The Marvell College!

It is my very great pleasure to welcome you to The Marvell College.  We are on an exciting journey to become the best school we can possibly imagine.  It is our belief that our students can achieve amazing things with the right support and encouragement.  At the heart of this is high quality pastoral care and teaching and learning that is focused on students making rapid progress and reaching their potential.

All aspects of our work are underpinned by our vision to be “A restorative and inclusive community, working together to achieve excellence for all children." and values of P.R.I.D.E.

Our vision and values of P.R.I.D.E. provide us with a clear direction and a shared understanding that we all have an important role to play in building a strong school community.

We believe that it is right and proper to recognise and reward positive behaviour which leads to excellent achievement and a positive and confident school community. Therefore, we spend time every day rewarding and recognizing the positive contributions that students make through our Rewards System.

We also acknowledge our role in supporting parents to help their children quickly understand the importance of keeping to the rules and doing what is expected to them. Therefore, we have a very clear and strict behaviour policy that we consistently uphold. We know that this is important because students and parents tell us that.

It is important to point out that we expect very few students to do anything other than enjoy, achieve and take advantage of the opportunities that we offer at The Marvell College.

Our teachers are highly motivated professionals who put the needs of students first and ensure all of our students feel that they are welcome, that they belong, that they feel safe and achieve great things.  Our collective belief is that achievement is the result of hard work, practice, dedication and teamwork.  Therefore the relationship between home and school is crucial to the success of our students.

Our £27m state-of-the art facilities ensure that we are well placed to deliver an outstanding curriculum and enrichment opportunities.  Students can expect to take part in high quality extra-curricular activities in a range of sports, performing arts and technology to ensure they have the opportunity to discover their talents and abilities.

Our formal partnership with St Mary’s College (under the sponsorship of academy sponsor Hull Collaborative Academy Trust (HCAT) ensures that we are better placed than any other school locally to continue our rapid progress.
