One Punch - Hull & East Yorkshire

We are very honoured to have been donated a bench by Debbie Akester, the mother of Scott Akester. As a school, we have been raising money to support the charity One Punch – Hull and East Yorkshire. We have also been very fortunate to welcome Debbie into school to lead assemblies, where she has shared Scott’s story and helped our pupils understand the serious and lasting impact that a single punch can have. Her visits have been incredibly powerful and have encouraged our pupils to reflect on the importance of making safe, responsible choices and showing kindness and respect to others.

Words That Count

In partnership with Hull KR, over 50 pupils have taken part in a 10-week intervention programme. The programme, “Words That Count”, focused on numeracy and literacy skills, while also providing pupils with essential knowledge about finances and money. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the course, and all participants successfully graduated with a certificate. Well done to everyone!
