Extended Learning

Overview & Rationale

At The Marvell College, we believe that extended learning is a fundamental aspect of the educational experience, rather than an optional extra. Below outlines the reasons why extended learning holds significant importance in our school:

1. Enhances academic achievement by reinforcing content taught in class.
2. Develops essential life skills, such as time management, responsibility and self-discipline.
3. Fosters a deeper understanding and promotes critical thinking.
4. Consolidates learning and prepares pupils for exams and future learning.

• Years 7 and 8 receive Extended Learning weekly from English and Maths. Most other subjects are set fortnightly.
