Our Intent

At The Marvell College, we are committed to providing high quality educational opportunities for our school community. Our vision is based on the belief that an ambitious pastoral curriculum is vital in ensuring that our students leave The Marvell College with a broad range of experiences that will assist students in later life. We ensure that our pastoral curriculum aids our learners to secure the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they will need for future success.

The Marvell College is built on and driven by our core values and we are committed to ensuring that all our learners have/are:

Ambitious Goals

Learners will:

• Achieve excellent academic standards enabling them to excel against any competition nationally.

• Experience a rich and exciting pastoral curriculum that leaves them able to make powerful choices about their future ambitions.

• Be proud of their achievements and the progress they make, and have these achievements celebrated and recorded.

Learners will:

To enable our students to flourish within our pastoral curriculum, a learner’s time at The Marvell College is carefully mapped out. This is in order for them to see the pathway they will follow, the goals they need to work towards to achieve, and the success which will be theirs at the end of the journey.

This journey is mapped out in several ways:

• The subject specific knowledge of each curriculum area that they will cover is planned out and documented.

• The strands of the personal, social, physical, spiritual, moral and cultural education which are threaded through the academic and pastoral curriculum and are plotted in The Marvell College Learning Journey.

• The Pastoral Learning Journey is a progression model for building the development of our learners and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
