Salary: Grade 3 SCP 3 – 5 £18,065 - £18,795 pro rata

Hours: 33.5 per week - term time only plus 5 days

The Marvell College requires a learning support assistant to work under the direct instruction of senior pastoral leaders to support children to ensure they learn and achieve well.

Social, Emotional and Academic Support Practitioner

Governors of The Marvell College seek to appoint a Social, Emotional and Academic support practitioner to join our talented pastoral team in providing high quality provision for children. At The Marvell College, we have a broad and ambitious curriculum which is effective in that children achieve well, however, some pupils require additional support to overcome gaps in their social and emotional development. Therefore we are expanding our team to ensure we are well placed to meet the needs of all pupils so that they achieve well and make progress socially emotionally and academically.

The post holder will work with pastoral leaders and other support staff to assess need, design and deliver support programmes and track impact. They will ensure that provision is highly effective and leads to demonstrable improvement in the social, emotional and academic needs of children. The successful candidate will be curious, assertive, highly skilful in engaging children and deeply nurturing. They will understand, articulate and demonstrate their ability to form effective relationships with children that accelerate their progress. Experience of working in a school setting is essential.

Office Administrator
