Year 7

26th September 2017

Year 7 have had a fantastic start to life at The Marvell College. The current Year 7's attendance is 97.9% which is extremely impressive and reflects the fact that Year 7 are enjoying coming to The Marvell College every day.

The vast majority are involved in going to clubs each lunchtime including dodge ball, dance, parkour, badminton, football and Science club being amongst the favourites. After school has seen many students going to the First Aid club, drama and Science again-we may have some budding world-famous Scientists in our midst!

The newly-formed rugby and football teams have already played their first matches against other schools. Although we have yet to secure a win, never has a team played with such determination and team-spirit, never giving up and supporting each other until the final whistle. The way in which these students have played-especially when taking into account it is the first time many have ever played rugby-have made us all extremely proud. They are the embodiment of PRIDE for us at The Marvell College.

All students are collecting their Pride Points voraciously and it has been amazing to see them breaking all previous records when it comes to the amount of Pride Points collected. Again, this reflects the inclusive and determined attitude of Year 7 who are embracing all the opportunities and new experiences that The Marvell College has to offer. Long may it continue!

Whole school attendance:

"The attendance in these first weeks back at The Marvell College has been extremely impressive. Attendance is currently 9.5% which reflects the hard work and determination of our students. As a school, we are extremely proud of our students for this amazing effort and expect it to continue. Good attendance allows our students to achieve their potential and to experience in full all the opportunities and exciting experiences our school has to offer. Well done to all year groups on outstanding attendance!"
