Working together with Hull Women’s Aid, the police, fire service and The Marvell College pupils to promote the White Ribbon Campaign.
Nationally it is estimated 1.2 million women experience domestic violence every year and around 400,000 were victims of sexual assault. Each year in Hull, around 24,690 women experience domestic abuse. Humberside Police respond to between 550 and 650 calls every month. Last year, domestic abuse services in the city supported over 2,700 women and their children.
The White Ribbon Campaign is an educational campaign by men aimed at men. The wearing of a White Ribbon is a statement of mens opposition to violence against women.
Pupils from Year 7 signed up to the pledge to support the work of Hull White Ribbon Campaign to NEVER EXCUSE, COMMIT, or REMAIN SILENT about ABUSE or BULLYING.
