Inspires programme

4th March 2020

I have some fantastic news regarding the girls who have been taking part in our Inspires programme every week with me, Adrian Rolfe and Ellie Tanser. Maryam, Yasmin, Samirha and Chelsey have created a Social Action Project around mental health awareness and have been selected as the winners of the Inspires Challenge. Judges were from Hull City Academy (Jordan Hickey and Matty Jacob). I am sure you will agree that this is massive for these students and I would just like to say they have done amazing and put so much effort and engagement into this.

Their proposal has been successfully selected out of many other schools in Hull by the judges. From now until March we will deliver their programme designed by the girls in the school which I feel is worth meeting about and discussing as I think it can be really successful with support from staff. And then the girls will head down to London in March and present their project and how it has been implemented within the school.

Natasha from Hull City wants Academy players to be involved in this who have also been struggling with Mental Health and the two judges from the Academy will also want to see how it progresses.

The next inspires lesson is Wednesday, where me and Ellie will tell the girls the good news so please keep it on the down low to the girls until then.
